Binita Sotang

From the foothills of the majestic Himalayas, where rhododendrons bloom and crystal water flows hails Binita Sotang, one of the most vouched for entrepreneurs of our generation. She started her journey in India where she did her a bachelors degree and went on to do her second bachelors in fashion and textile. Thereafter, she attained her national level Biogas technician training in Nepal. She was also certified in ISO 9001 through the organization she worked with. She has worked over 8 years in Stichting Netherlands Vrijwilligers (SNV), Kathmandu Country office, headquarter in The Hague, Netherlands, holding the designation of quality manager for BSP (Biogas Support Program).

Having a passion for business she started her own brand called ISEEITFIRST in the heart of Kathmandu (2004-2011) which specialized in ladies shoes primarily and bags. ISEEITFIRST then branched out in India where a sub-brand for men called Monkey Business was found. She moved on to venturing towards food and beverages and opened her first cafe in Kathmandu called Alboe. Thereafter, came Tulip Nepal - Fine Dining with her best friend, which was one of the hotspots to be in everyday of the week. Having a keen eye for fashion she started a clothing line called Dhago focusing on women's ethnic wear, which still is up and running. Dhago also has a sub-brand called Urban Threads. Having such successes and a strong networking connection she built over the years, it was no surprise when she was featured in multiple print and digital media in Nepal. Her interviews ranged from Nepal's economic conditions during the recession to foreseeing the possibilities of adoption in Nepal, which was illegal at that time, in collaboration with VOW magazine called A Cup of Tea with Binita Sotang. From shopping destination, hosting high tea with celebrities from Nepal and Bollywood, to home and lifestyle interviews she has done it all.

Binita then moved to the gorgeous Netherlands two and a half years ago. Within 2 years, she started her business overseas, in the Netherlands, MissMomo by Tulip Nepal. She started her Dutch Language course and passed her A2 level. Once MissMomo flourished she was interviewed in the radio talk show in Den Haag, Netherlands called First Nepali Woman Entrepreneur with Radio Sangam. On the international women's day, in Netherlands, she was interviewed in a show called Between Two Cultures. It is just so exciting to watch out for what she is unto next.
